2016 Introductions

Shipping on the new 2016 introductions will begin after April 15, 2016.  Shipping is $10 for the first 3 plants and then $2 per additional plant.  There will be no bonus plants with new introductions.  Paypal, checks and money orders are accepted as payment.  Please email me at wilprof@aol.com to ensure that plants are available since most are limited and many will sell out quickly.  All except two are listed as SF but I will try to ship double fans when I can.

DROP IT LIKE IT'S HOT

(BLUE GOBLIN x tetra OUT OF THE BLUE)

This was the daylily that won the prestigious King of the Hill award on the mydaylilies site in 2014.  It will show more patterning when the weather is cooler and gets more blue as the temperatures get into the 90s.  I wanted to show several of its faces here.

Lavender pink bloom with a large patterned eye of baby blue outlined in purple.  The purple continues as an edge around the petals.  In cool weather, the pattern can be quite dramatic with large areas of white.  The throat is green with a dark green heart.  Fertile both ways.

DRUID CITY DEBUTANTE

((COLLECTOR'S CHOICE x LIGHT YEARS AWAY) x PRECIOUS CANDY)) x FRINGY

A southern fancy face on a dormant plant.  A gorgeous light pink bloom with an ornate gold edge.  At times, the edge can be extremely fancy with angel wings and pillowing.  It also has a nice green throat.  The branching is fantastic.  It is fertile both ways.

TET, DOR, 29", 5.5", M, RE, 4-5 way branching, 20-25 buds

WANDAFUL

(seedling x GOD SAVE THE QUEEN)

Named for one of my dearest friends who also is my office manager.  This daylily is colorful and spunky just like Wanda.  A medium purple bloom with a large blue-purple eye.  The edge around the petals can be quite elaborate with lighter colored teeth and tentacles.  The edge is also blue-purple surrounded by a lighter edge.  The sepals can also have a few teeth on occasion.  This one was much admired by Michael Bouman this past summer.  Fertile both ways.

TET, SEV, 22", 5.5", M, RE, 3 way branching, 15-20 buds.

MARRIAGE EQUALITY

(COTE D'AZUR x ROSE F KENNEDY)

This one has been a favorite since it first bloomed in 2011.  I love the cerise petals and sepals and the lighter pink watermark.  It is darker earlier in the season and it lightens up a little as the temperatures begin to rise.  It has a large yellow green throat with a dark green heart.  Named to celebrate the historic ruling by the US Supreme Court that declares that love is love.  Fertile both ways.

CHATTAHOOCHEE RAPIDS

(STARMANS QUEST x WHITE MAGICIAN) x SNAKE IN THE GRASS BOO

Medium purple blooms with a large blue-purple eyezone.  It has a large green throat that radiates out into the eye.  The petal edges are crimped and have a white rim.  Veins spread from the eye to the edges of both the petals and sepals.  It is a full sibling to last year's WHISPER OF THE RAINDROPS.

SHOOTIN THE HOOCH

(PRAGUE SPRING x HEAVENLY GHOST RIDER)

This is not a nod to drinking, but instead, it celebrates the tradition of tubing, kayaking, and rafting down the Chattahoochee River which flows through Atlanta.  We often take the dogs down to the river and sit on the rocks as the fun seekers shoot the rapids of the river.  This one is a lemon cream with a dark green throat that pushes out onto all segments.  Tall and well branched, the petals and sepals do all kinds of wonderful things.  It is registered as a crispate quilled spatulate.  Fertile both ways.  I have seen a few kids out of it and they have been pretty.

TASTE THE RAINBOW

(STARMANS QUEST x ROSE F KENNEDY)

This is the first of the original 170 seedlings of this cross that I am introducing.  I have a couple more that will come out in future years.  This daylily has an amazing plant habit.  It is a greyed lavender pink with a dark lavender band outlined in purple.  It displays a large green throat that extends out onto both the petals and sepals.  A grass green heart really sets off the bloom.  It is fertile both ways.

LIFE'S A BEACH

(UNCONDITIONAL ACCEPTANCE x KALEIDOSCOPE TREASURE)

A beautiful bi-tone with lavender pink petals with lighter sepals.  There is a dark lavender band on the petals and a large applique covers much of the petal with yellow green.  There is a dark green heart.  Has already proven itself as a fantastic parent.  Very fertile both ways.

DIP, DOR, 26", 6.5", EM, RE, 4 branches, 20 buds

HITTING THE JACKPOT

(UNCONDITIONAL ACCEPTANCE x GOING HOME TO GEORGIA)

There is just something about this daylily that brightens up the garden.  It has an amazing gold color with golden stamens and pistil.  It also has a dark green throat that pushes out onto the bloom.  I have bloomed some very nice seedlings from HITTING THE JACKPOT.  This one is fertile both ways.  It does make smaller fans.

RED STINGER

unknown x unknown

What a wonderful surprise to find the baby in the seedling beds.  It bloomed, along with a couple siblings, in a bed of tooth tetraploid seedings.  Not sure how I did the mix up, but I am glad that it bloomed.  My guess is that it might be out of HEAVENLY SPIDER MONKEY breeding.  This one is named for the red wasp that got my finger one morning as I was crossing on this plant.  It is beautiful red, open form, double with a large yellow green throat with a dark green heart.  Very fertile both ways.  95% double.  Very much admired by David Kirchhoff in the garden this past summer.
